Andar Bahar Live brought one of India’s most traditional card games into the global live casino arena. The challenge was not only to digitise a culturally rich experience but also to create a product that resonated with both Indian and international players. My role was to lead the UI/UX design, balancing authenticity with Pragmatic Play’s premium live casino identity.

Overview
The product combined a traditional live dealer setup with a modern digital interface, offering players multiple betting options, side bets, and real-time statistics. It had to feel familiar to Indian players while remaining accessible to newcomers who might be discovering Andar Bahar for the first time. My responsibility was to ensure that every design decision supported clarity, immersion, and a seamless flow across devices.
Challenge
Designing for Andar Bahar meant bridging two worlds. On one side was the cultural authenticity that Indian stakeholders rightly insisted upon; on the other, the structured, premium design language expected from Pragmatic Play. Feedback sessions often surfaced as a mix of passionate, sometimes chaotic ideas and preferences. The core challenge was to distill that input into a streamlined solution that kept the essence of Andar Bahar intact while maintaining clarity, hierarchy, and user trust in a live gaming environment.
Process
The process began with research into the cultural significance of Andar Bahar and a comparative analysis of how other providers approached the game. I worked closely with senior Indian stakeholders in collaborative workshops to capture authentic expectations around color, pacing, and betting flow.
Since my previous projects included Baccarat Live and Multi-Table Baccarat, one of our broader team goals was to increase production speed by reusing established UI components where possible. This meant that while Andar Bahar is a completely different game, I was tasked with bridging culturally specific feedback and gameplay requirements while working within the constraints of a Baccarat-based UI structure. Through iteration-driven wireframes and careful adaptation of existing modules, I created a solution that preserved usability, respected cultural nuances, and still accelerated delivery timelines.
Solution
I focused on building a design framework that embraced cultural motifs and betting traditions without losing usability. The betting panel was designed to support both the simplicity of the core Andar/Bahar wager and the complexity of side bets and multipliers. Visual hierarchy, consistent color coding, and clear statistical indicators helped players make confident decisions in real time. Importantly, I took the diverse stakeholder feedback and translated it into a coherent design language that merged cultural authenticity with Pragmatic Play’s premium look. The result was an interface that felt uniquely Indian, yet globally polished.
Results
Andar Bahar Live launched as a strong addition to Pragmatic Play’s live dealer portfolio, resonating with Indian players and gaining traction internationally. The product balanced cultural authenticity with a premium global standard, showing how localised insights and streamlined design can work together to create a compelling live casino experience. It strengthened Pragmatic Play’s presence in emerging markets and showcased the value of collaborative, cross-cultural design leadership.
